It is just one year, since the family has shifted to Nicaragua⦠and Chintu-Chinki have stayed back due to Chinkiâs passport problems.
One day, Chintu is shocked to read in maran-nondh about the death of Dadajiâs cousin sister. When they go to her house in some run-down area of the city, they discover a bare home⦠and two boys and a girl â Sandy, Birju and Geeti just joining hands at them, and telling them that if they have offered their condolences, they can leave! Both are taken aback by this rudeness⦠but the youngest seven year old suffers some minor burn in the kitchen right then, and out of motherly instinct, Chinki helps apply cream on his wounds and takes care of him.
In the meanwhile, Chintu sits in the drawing room, and falls through the creaking bed⦠under the mattress, he discovers an un-posted letter in his name. The old bua has written to him âmere marne ke baad inn bachho ko samhaal lena!! ⦠Chinki comes out, Chintu shows the letter⦠they promise the youngsters â that they will be back soon⦠to take them home! The kids are defiant, Chintu shows the letter⦠Chinki dum maarti hai voh lawyer ki beti hai- this letter is as good as making them legal guardians of the kids. Sandy points out that he is 19, an adult. Chintu says that in which case, he can live on his own, and they will take rest of the kids!
Chintu and Chinki return home, they discuss that only way to save these kids from a terrible, parent-less life is to assume the role of parents themselves. Kishan is shocked- they must be mad to take up responsibility of four kids at their age! Chintu shows old Buaâs letter, Chinki remembers the seven year old who suffered burns and both are determined- hum apni farz nibhayenge! Kishan grudgingly promises to help them out.
At the Tripathi home, younger siblings cling to Sandy as they donât know how to live with anyone. They would rather starve in their home, than be dominated by the do-gooders. One strict father was more than enough, now they donât want to get into that trap again. Sandy makes a plan. They all pack bags to run away. But none of them is in habit of getting early. So on the next morning, Chintu and Chinki reach home before they can escape. They misunderstand that the bags were meant for shifting with them. They are happy. An aged lawyer/relative of Daadi-Bua has joined them. He makes them sign letters of guardianship for three younger kids⦠and they take them all home. Sandy also joins them.
The problems start as soon as they arrive at home. Right from their terrible habits of dumping things everywhere... living as if they are in a filthy camp, eating at will and dropping food stuff everywhere. Chintu and Chinki plan to win over the kids, and the kids plan to get them so mad, that eventually they will give up guardianship and send them back home. Kishan is the only person of whom they are scared a little.
